UV Print
UV Print, also known as “Spot UV” or sometimes “Painted Text,” is a flat printing technique that uses ultraviolet light to cure or dry a glossy coating onto the surface of a printed product. This process highlights specific areas of a design, adding a subtle yet striking shine that enhances visual and tactile appeal.
Raised Varnishing
Raised Varnishing, also called “Raised Spot UV” in the traditional printing industry, creates a dimensional, raised effect on printed surfaces, adding depth and texture. There are two primary variations of this technique:
- Raised Varnishing
- This method involves applying a transparent layer of varnishing oil, which creates a semi-transparent, glossy finish that reflects light.
- The raised effect blends seamlessly with the base material, making it ideal for a subtle, elegant design.
- Since the varnish is transparent, it adopts the color of the underlying material, enhancing its natural tones without altering them.
- UV Print & Raised Varnishing
- This variation combines Raised Varnishing with UV Print to add an extra layer of color and contrast.
- The UV Print layer provides a vibrant, colored effect, which sits atop the raised varnish.
- Perfect for designs that require bold accents or high-contrast visuals, this technique offers a striking, polished look.
If you are familiar with Zno’s products, you will know that Raised Varnishing is available for album covers like Genuine Leather and Leatherette (except for Crocodile Leatherettes). But now we also offer raised varnishing on inside printed pages. This creates a tactile, embossed effect that enhances the visual and sensory experience of your albums. It’s an excellent way to draw attention to:
- Text and typography
- Decorative patterns or frames
- Specific elements within an image (e.g., flowers, jewelry, or architectural details)
This dynamic effect gives your albums a premium and modern look. At Zno, raised varnishing is available in 59 fonts and can be combined with an unlimited range of printed colors for added customization. This is available for Lustre and Matte Velvet.
